50 years ago, on July 20th 1969, the Apollo 11 lunar module landed on the moon. We’re celebrating by hosting Dr. Carolyn Crow, research associate at the University of Colorado Boulder in Geological Sciences, for the July installment of our Science & Spirits series! Carolyn will be discussing Earth’s moon, the Apollo mission, and lunar rock samples. We’re putting together some fun moon-themed cocktails - Dark Side of the Moon, anyone?
Additionally, our friends at Wings Over the Rockies - who are doing a week-long Apollopalooza celebration - are bringing one bottle of Space Whisky for sampling! One taste will run you $20, all of which benefits the Wings Over the Rockies Air & Space Museum (bottles went for $1700 at auction!?!) Don’t know what Space Whisky is? You can watch a video about it here.
After the conclusion of Dr. Carolyn Crow’s presentation, we hope you stick around with us to take a look at the moon through telescopes in the backyard.
We hope you can join us for this very fun event!
