Barrel #101

Nose that is both sweet, with notes of graham cracker and caramel, and fruity, with notes of dried orange peel and apple. Flavors are sweet and rich, with notes of creamy chocolate, clover honey and tannic malt. Finish starts with flavors of raw almonds and peat, then transitions to sweet brown sugar and lingers spicy and cooling on the tongue.

Fruity nose, with notes of apple and apricot balanced by a caramel sweetness. Medium body, with initial herbal dryness that transitions to sweet, estery notes of pear and Bing cherry with some burnt caramel thrown in. Very slight peat and fennel finish.

Tart, green apple nose with notes of pecan and dulce de leche. Incredibly approachable, with a smooth and buttery mouthfeel and flavors of vanilla, sweet oak and caramel. Finishes with notes of dark chocolate and spicy cinnamon.

Pear, maple and vanilla nose. Light, easy, and approachable flavor with notes of caramel, honey, and dates. Slightly spicy finish, lingering on the tongue with the smallest hint of peat.

Caramel, butterscotch and light pear nose. Taste is initially sweet, with notes of butterscotch and cinnamon. Full mouthfeel with a light peat taste and cooling, dusty leather finish.

Nose has hints of juicy fruit – apple, peach and pear – that is balanced by caramel and peat. Taste is initially oaky and sweet, but transitions to herbal and dry, with a slightly smoky and cooling mouthfeel. Notes of white pepper and menthol linger on the tongue.

Sweet caramel oak nose. Flavor is initially spicy cinnamon with an earthy tartness that fades and lingers as sweet brown sugar.

A dusty butterscotch nose with hints of leather. Taste is sweet with notes of vanilla, caramel and tangy, tart green apple. Slightly spicy and cooling finish.

A lemon-honey nose with hints of fresh hazelnut and, as it opens, fresh peat. Lightly sweet taste up front with butter, caramel and malty notes. Dries quickly on the tongue, with hints of smoke that come across tart and tannic.

We weren't lucky enough to put together tasting notes for this unique barrel, but our friends over at Liquor Mart tell us that it features toasted oak, caramel and butterscotch undertones.
